The event highlighted a range of projects from the school’s Architecture, Art and Design department. The volcanic stone lamp stood out as a hand‑made piece that channels the warm glow of a sunrise into a functional lighting fixture. Crafted from stone formed by volcanic activity, the lamp was designed to emit a gentle, natural light that enhances interior spaces and evokes a sense of earthiness. Other showcased pieces included a stone plate topped with a glass cloche that nods to Mexican cinema, and a wooden stool featuring leather tassels. Together, these works demonstrate the school’s interest in blending natural materials with cultural references. For designers and artists, the projects illustrate creative ways to incorporate natural materials and local motifs into design. Using volcanic stone in lighting can become a compelling element in both interior and exterior projects. Looking ahead, these works may serve as teaching examples in interior design and architecture courses, and inspire practitioners to experiment with stone and light in new ways.
