Does a zig‑zag facade make the arena experience better?
In Jihlava, a new ice‑hockey arena features a striking red zig‑zag facade and a rooftop running track. The 5,650‑seat building was built for the local hockey team but will also host cultural events.
What they did
Architects Chybik + Kristof designed the building with a red zig‑zag facade that resembles a hedgehog, added a rooftop track, and arranged the interior to accommodate both sports and community functions.
What they found
The arena now serves as a sports venue and a cultural hub, its distinctive look attracting visitors and providing a versatile space for events.
